Uber is expanding its services from four wheels to two with the U.S. based company set to be launching a motorbike taxi on-demand service in Uganda.
Following a successful launch in Uganda in 2016 and steadily seeing itself grow among Ugandan movers, Uber is set to make a new addition to the transportation sector with the launch of “UberBoda” a new service that gives riders an affordable and convenient motorcycle ride at the push of a button, through the Uber app.
‘UberBoda’ which is a replication of a pilot service in Bangkok, a city where motorbike taxis are already a popular way to beat the city’s dreadful traffic and get from A to B quicker dubbed ‘UberMoto’. Riders receive driver and bike details just as they do for other Uber rides, as well as all standard safety features before, during and after the ride.
It has not yet been confirmed when the service will be rolled out but GURU8 can authoritatively report that Uber is working on the option and are already testing it with a few select beta users. The service is already a success in some countries such as Bangkok, Thailand and India that have a wide usage of Motorbikes.
If launched, UberBoda will be a direct competition of SafeBoda the pioneer motorbike on-demand service in Uganda after it’s inception in 2014 and has since itself grow and give Uber a run for their money last year.

You are probably disgusted with the new WhatsApp-Snapchat status update that keeps on disappearing after 24 hours. You are also always prompted to check someone’s status even when do not want to be seen as among the people that viewed someone’s status yet you cannot avoid the temptation to do so.
You can view such statuses without being seen as one of the “stalkers”.
Use the privacy setting in your WhatsApp. Access the settings, click on accounts, choose privacy, disable the “Read receipts”, untick this option.
Whereas you will be able to see the other person’s status without appearing on the stalkers list, there is a catch. You too will not be able to see those that see your statuses when you update. You will always have 0 Views which I do not think you will be comfortable with given the fact that we all want to be able to see how many people check on us.
It will also mean that you will not be seeing blue ticks in your WhatsApp messages. The message will remain with that dull grey color whether it has been read or not. You will not be able to know if someone has actually ignored you or not.
If you dread this option. There is an alternative.
Check the status through your phone storage.
WhatsApp secretly stores statuses in the phone storage on android phones. When you do to the WhatsApp folder in the phone, look for media. You will find a new folder “.statuses” appearing in your list. When you open it, you will find all the statuses from your contacts in your phone.
The only challenge is that you will not be able to know who used that status, because it does not show. But at least you will see every picture or video used as a status.
If you do not see this folder, open your file manager, look its settings, and click on show hidden files. The folder will appear.
All this for not wanting to be seen in someone’s status viewed list.
Google Drive addressed one of the biggest advantages of Microsoft Office: offline access and editing. With this feature enabled, Docs, Slides, and Sheets effectively becomes a native application. Anupdate starting today will allow users to select specific files to store and edit without an internet connection.
Previously, Drive’s offline feature would download and store every single document, spreadsheet, and presentation for offline access and editing. With today’s update, users in desktop Chrome will be able to select individual files to store offline.
To make a file available offline, users need to visit the specific Docs, Sheets, or Slides home screen and toggle ‘Available offline’ in a file’s overflow menu. (Note: the individual offline option does not appear in the main Google Drive site.) Once enabled, the file will quickly download in the background and users will have full access, with changes synced when a connection is reestablished. When finished, users can simply toggle the option off.
While syncing everything offline removes the pain of managing files, some users don’t have enough space to store everything. Currently, individual offline access is only showing up for Google Apps customers whose admins have enabled the feature. Presumably, this feature will also roll out to personal Google accounts in the future.
