ILICIT Africa which is an organisation that aims at enhancement of livelihoods using ICT tools, and NITA Uganda are organizing a training workshop in Monitoring and Evaluation using Geo Tools.

The training will mainly cover data collection using mobile technology, analysis and publication to google maps. The training will be based on ODK (Open Data Kit), Fusion Tables and Google Earth. The training is a hands on training which will enhance the participants skills in geo tools for monitoring and evaluation.

I asked Daniel Nanghaka who is the event co-ordinator why it is important for one to attend the training and he heard this to say;

“Every day that passes by there is need to digitize and gather real time data, during monitoring and evaluation. With the projects that span through multiple locations and high population geo tools becoming the necessity to geo tag data and analyse data in respective to the region or respective location which justifies the importance of the training.”

The training is targeting 25 participants who will gain a hands on experience and will be able to use the respective tools. To confirm your participation, you will be required to make a contribution of UGX 30,000/- (Thirty Thousand Shillings only) which will be used for meals and at the end of the day a certificate of Participation will be awarded to all participants.
