Firefox for iOS is now globally available

Mozilla’s Firefox has always been a cross platform browser but it had somehow eluded the Apple Store because it used to run on its own Gecko engine and yet iOS only accepts third party browsers that are built using the webkit browser engine which Apple played a big part in building.

Firefox for iOS which has only been available in Australia is now available to all users globally. Firefox will let iOS users sync their bookmarks, history and open tabs across devices. Let’s not forget the private browsing mode and visual tabs for recently visited sites.

You can get Firefox for iOS from the Apple Store right now but it’s hard to recommend because their isn’t much more it offers compared to Safari and Chrome on iOS.
