When they 2017 year was coming to an end, Tecno Mobile rolled out the Phantom 8 a flagship that was layman’s answer to IPhone 8, Huawei Mate 8 and The Samsung S8. It came off as a great consolation and was a fine make from Tecno.
Before that, Tecno Mobile had released their budget smartphones the Tecno Spark series and they were welcomed with remarkable excitement as many rushed to buy them. For the average phone user, Tecno Spark batteries, designs and usability were the perfect pick and aroused much more love for the brand here in Uganda. If you came across about 10 people, 7 of them at least have a Tecno Spark.
Without going further into the year, Tecno Mobile has set out early to continue growing the Camon family with their latest to the family being the Camon CM. When you take a first look at the Camon CM, you will agree with me that Tecno has slowly started giving phone users more screen and less bezels. The Camon CM comes with an 18:9 “Full Vision” display with Gorilla Glass protection among other features. The phone itself is a low mid-range device meant to showcase the possibilities of a TECNO smartphone with the new aspect ratio.
Before I delve further, the Camon Family is known for giving us the best Cameras to aid ourselves with the best selfies and normal photos. The New Camon CM comes with a 13 megapixels rear camera with LED flash and another 13 megapixels camera at the front with LED flash as well. With these, you wouldn’t expect the Camon CM to disappoint with their Camera.
Furthermore, Tecno Camon CM boasts of a 5.7 inches display with HD resolution of 720 by 1440 pixels, the pixels quality may not be at its best but it is typically well to do. There is an unspecified corning gorilla glass on the screen for protection from scratch. This is slightly much better than the Tecno Spark and the Camon CX and will give wide angle shots.
Unlike the Tecno Camon CX which had, 3200mAh battery, the Camon CM has a 3,000 mAh battery in store, this is a bit smaller than its predecessor. On the inside sits a Quad-core processor with Mediatek MT6737 chipset, the processor clocks at 1.25 GHz. The Camon CM sports a 2GB RAM which is enough to give you a lag-free multi-tasking experience, there might also be 3GB RAM/32GB ROM version of the device but that is yet to be confirmed.
The Camon CM comes with 16GB ROM but is expandable up to 128GB using a micro SD card if the user is in need of more storage space. The smartphone is a dual Micro SIM Android device and supports dual standby with 4G network option as expected.
Camon CM runs the Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with HiOS 2.0 from TECNO Mobile on top, the HiOS is highly customized Android operating system with more optimized and sleeker user interface.
As earlier anticipated in it’s leaked images, the Tecno Camon CM looks more like the Spark K7. The body is made of plastic with smooth finishing, its fingerprint scanner is positioned at the back to provide additional security for the device. The Device is expected to be sold in Champagne Gold, City Blue and Mid-night Black colors when it hits the market.
The Folks at Tecno Mobile Uganda haven’t yet confirmed what the Camon CM will cost but we are optimistic it will be a budget smartphone like the Tecno Spark. The Camon CM is not yet in Uganda but is expected to in a few days.
