MTN Uganda has made some changes on its mobile-based application, MyMTN App, a self-care app that enables customers to access its MTN products and services through the self-service category to do a bunch of stuff like load airtime, buy different bundles, access MTN 141 and Mobile Money as opposed to the traditional use is the USSD codes to access the services mentioned above.

In the past, the users of My MTN App issued reports of the need to have data (MBs) to gain access to the services of the app. After rectification and various updates, MTN has made it free to gain access to the application services freely without the need for an active data bundle which was not the case before. To access the App, you simply need to have your internet connection running and with or without data, you can access the app.

This change was made to enable its customers to gain access to these products and services of the company even in cases they do not have MBs to use the application which is quite similar to the traditional use of USSD codes to access the services without any restrictions.

Therefore instead of subscribing for data first to use the MyMTN App, users shall access the app even without data which on another hand also enables them to subscribe for data through the App in case their data bundles have depleted.

In more exciting additions that have been made on the application, MTN has added their Go Gaaaga promo onto the app and is instant. “Go¬†Gagaaa-Wednesday” was launched last year by the telecom giants that offers its customers with 1GB of data at only UGX 3000 only valid on Wednesdays. This product shall now be available on the MyMTN App products menu and also remains accessible through *150*3# for customers without the App.

MyMTN App remains open to all mobile-based operating-system platforms that is Android, iOS, Java, Windows and Blackberry O.S.
