Following their news bulletin that sparked off an outrage on social media a few weeks back, ABS TV has finally received a slap from the UCC, the regulator of all media houses in Uganda.
From the letter released today, the commission affirms that they issued a series of warnings to the management of ABS TV to refrain from the broadcasting of offensive programs, a request which they refused to comply with.
Early in October last year, ABS TV was fined Shs25M for continuous breach of minimum broadcasting standards with a subsequent undertaking not to broadcast other offensive programs. ABS TV is a Christian station owned by Pastor Augustine Yiga.
