The DataHack4FI an innovation competition that promotes evidence- based decision making for improved financial service provision to low-income individuals has kicked off at the Innovation Village with over Twenty Teams tussling it out with innovations and ideas.

After a few hours of talk from the stakeholders, we have moved to where the codding and brainstorming shall be taking place for the next three days to bring you the best innovation for financial inclusion.

The competition brings together data enthusiasts and financial service providers (FSPs) to crowd source data-driven solutions to real-world challenges. It aims to promote the use of data and analytics for evidence-based decision making by Financial Service Providers with the goal of better serving the under served and unsaved.

Data is a powerful tool and when combined with analytics, it can be used by FSPs for a myriad of reasons such as better understanding and serving existing clients, identifying new client segments, informing product design.

Guru8 shall be bringing the updates live on the website here and on twitter on the hashtag #DataHack4FI as all the action unwinds at the Innovation Village. We have to give it up to Insight2impact in partnership with Laboremus Uganda Ltd, FSD Uganda, UNCDF MM4P and L-IFT and with additional support from GladFarm Uganda who have put together all there is to make this hackathon a certified marque.
